This is an Institute of Ideas event called Debating Matters, which is a prestigious school debating competition. I’m a judge on the final “Space Exploration is a Waste of Time and Money”–but the whole day should be good fun.
The space topic relates to two opposing Viewpoints published in Space Policy in 29(4) where we published
“The Essential Role of Human Spaceflight” by Robert J Rovetto
and
“Response: Against Maned Space Flight Programmes” by Nobel Prize winner Steven Weinberg
(Note–these Viewpoints related to manned spaceflight and the debate is about space exploration more generally.)
