British Science Week 2016 is coming up this March!
Of the many events are two evenings of stargazing, for a family-friendly night out.
From the Stargazing website:
A beginners Stargazing session for ORSA Space & Science Club pupils from Oxford Road Community School along with their parents & families. Local Astronomical societies and enthusiasts are invited to come along and help our 7-10 years olds discover the night sky and create a star map of what can be seen from central Reading with the naked eye and using telescopes/binoculars. 7pm – 8.30pm
Parking is available for volunteers bringing telescopes and equipment.
VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED
Admission free, but do see the Stargazing website for more details.
