Yours truly is very flattered to be the cover story of this week’s The World Today, the journal of Chatham House. It’s a brilliant image that they used as well. The collection of articles on “Space, the final front line” includes a piece by Kazuto Sazuki, who has previously contributed to Space Policy as well.
My article is here: “Star Laws:Â Jill Stuart outlines the legal framework in which the militarization of space has evolved“.
“Space may be a physical vacuum, but it is not a legal one. Regulation of military activity in space dates back to the 1950s, and continues to evolve – both restraining states in some of their activities, and offering opportunities through legal loopholes for those wanting to exploit it. Future regulation needs to address the complicated nature of both space hardware and also those entities that are able to use it.”
